Suprema FaceStation F2 Multimodal Biometric Terminal

Suprema FaceStation F2 is a fusion multimodal terminal with unmatched facial authentication performance

The Suprema FaceStation F2 is a multimodal biometric terminal for access control and time-attendance, supporting secure authentication via face recognition, fingerprint (in select models), card, and mobile credentials for safe verification. It focuses on face recognition using both visible-light and infrared cameras, a technology Suprema calls “Fusion Matching.” The terminal supports a large user base, extensive logs, robust security, and reliable access control. Support for contactless authentication is especially important in today’s hygiene-conscious environments.

Fusion Matching combines infrared and visible-light facial recognition to achieve high accuracy and anti-spoofing, with a False Acceptance Rate (FAR) claimed as 1 in 10 billion. Depending on the version, it supports face, fingerprint, cards (dual frequency: 125 kHz, 13.56 MHz, e.g., MIFARE/DESFire/FeliCa), and mobile access via NFC/BLE. The Suprema FaceStation F2 can support up to approximately 100,000 users, 50,000 face image logs, and 5,000,000 text/event logs. Recognition distance ranges from 0.5 m to 1.3 m (19.7″–51.2″), with a recognition height range of 140 cm to 190 cm.

The Suprema FaceStation F2 terminal has robust hardware and environmental specifications, including an IP65 rating (in some configurations) and an operating temperature range of -20°C to 50°C. This system supports mask detection for COVID and hygiene compliance, enables remote enrollment, and uses deep-learning-based anti-spoofing to detect fake faces, photos, or masks. It features a 7" IPS color LCD, runs on Android, and includes security measures such as encrypted credentials and a secure boot.

Different models—FSF2-DB, FSF2-AB, and FSF2-ODB—vary in credential support, offering face-only, face-and-fingerprint, and different card type options, respectively. Proper power supply, mounting, environmental conditions, connectivity (Ethernet, RS-485, etc.), and supporting system access control software are all important. As a premium device, its cost is higher than that of basic biometric terminals. For integration, it's important to check compatibility with your access control or time attendance systems and determine whether middleware is required. Biometric data is securely managed by the system, and all deployments must comply with applicable local laws and regulations regarding its collection, storage, and protection.
